Man! it's not even June and the prices are getting rediculous. this picture is from Wadsworth, Tx. just north of Matagorda, Tx. taken yesterday on the way home from fishing. how are the prices in your neck of the woods?

I wonder whether Woodward's accusation (collusion between Bush and the Saudis to drop prices before the election) is true. I guess we'll find out.

isn't it just a restatement of their standing policy? Saudi's have always said that they would try to hold oil at around 28/barrell. They've said they think it will be at that price by the end of summer.

Woodward's "Fair and Balanced" reporting of that policy is "Secret Deal With Bush Hegemony to Control World Oil! Human-Walrus Baby Born in UFO!!!"

For unleaded petrol i pay 98cents per litre over here in Australia NSW.

My car holds 30 litres.

$1.99 in Reno, Nevada.

$1.68 US in Hammond, La.

I don't know what the conversion ration to USD is, but .98 per liter is 3.72 per US gallon.

The good news about gas:

--Americans are still not paying as much as they were in 1982.
--We could have it like sun sparkz...$2.76US a gallon.

Actually, foreign prices seem to be lower than what I've seen in the past...it's just over $2 a gallon in the Toronto area.

$1.699 per gallon yesterday at Sam's Club, where the at-pump member's price is 3 cents below area average.

back here in H-town at my local Kroger grocery store they have is for $1.63 but then if you use their card you get a 3 cent discount. sure beats last sunday in Wadsworth.....

but, do you have a bunch of gas cans in the back to fill up the airplane? Bet you save a PILE o money if your engine is 87 octane rated.

Dude, if the wing has a little sticker on it next to the fuel filler opening that says it's rated for 87 octane auto gas, you can fill er up at the local stop n rob (good luck landing though!). Renting or owning doesn't make a bit of difference, unless your rental contract has a weird clause in it about only filling the tanks at the home 'drome.

Normally, the plane doesn't care where the fuel comes from as long as it likes it and it's not contaminated. I used to work the late shift at an Exxon and a guy would come in every Saturday at 0500 with six Jerry cans in his truck. One time I asked why he filled so many cans every week, and he told me he used it in his plane.

Must be nice, when I was flying, my planes were not rated for autogas. :(

Yeah, but 3500 feet up is a shitty place to find out your plane doesn't like Chevron Supreme. :worried:

2 of the planes i fly do have an STC (suplimental type certificate) for mogas and yeah, it's a lot cheaper that 100LL. the owner has a gas tank in the back of his truck that he puts supreme in for the planes. and then come tax time he can get a deduction b/c the gas is for planes and not cars....
