It's Brazil's Carnival, and workers at the Rio Grande samba school in Rio de Janeiro are nearly finished with a Carnival float portraying a scene never shown in Sunday school -- Adam and Eve making love. And the Brazilian Catholic Church is threatening to sue.

Sue? Why, because they're in the patented missionary position or they have a copyright to Adam & Eve?

It's already too late... This special float has been forbidden because it showed some explicite kama-sutra positions.

They'd just as soon forget the word "beget"...
Elspode • Feb 23, 2004 5:19 pm
Yeah, becuz dey begettin' it on!

Nah, its because of the dancing that happens at the parade.

I'm sure there are hundred or thousands of topless women in the parade. I guess that's not that bad.:p

Everywhere = cooler than Utah. Unless you REALLY dig intricate multipart choir singing and noncaffeinated beverages.

Somebody spent a lot of time making each little box on that web site a link to something.

What does the side view of that float look like?

I found this article:

http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/living/health/7996950.htm

Among the interesting tidbits:

"The school's 80-minute parade Sunday will feature a giant float of Adam and Eve caught in the act of original sin, as well as same-sex kissing and couple-swapping. All will be singing the school's theme song, Let's Dress with a Condom, My Love."

The BBC has a more subtle translation:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3505109.stm

"Let's Wear the Little Shirt, My Love, is Grande Rio's song this year, a slang reference to wearing a condom."
