Thanks to axlrosen! The MIT hackers are at it again with a new hack. This one celebrates today being the 100th anniversary of flight - by cover of night they put a model of the plane right up on the roof of the dome there.

For those who haven't seen the MIT Hacks page, it's one of many pages I keep bookmarked for images. But sadly they are slow about converting hacks to the page. Today's hack is noted there with "photos coming soon", but the same note is made about the previous hack which happened on Oct. 25. Oh well.

So it seems!

They've finally put up the images of the hack on that link I put in the first post. A note says that the figure in the plane there is a dummy, so we can't use it for scale, but it's pretty big anyway.

The car in this classic hack was real (or at least life-sized) as far as I know, so the flyer seems to be the right size. I might complain that a bunch of MIT geeks would not be my first choice for carpenting work, but I guess it's the thought that counts :D

That "hacks" page doesn't appear to have one of my faves: The One Ring from LotR.

As someone who wears one of these every day, I like this photoshoped variant of the LOTR hack.

As someone who is admittedly behind the times and majorly unhip ... I'll ask ...

What secret society does said ring represent?

What's the image on the face of the MIT ring?

It's a beaver, which is the mascot of MIT. This is just the class ring, affectionately known as "the brass rat". Here's a closeup.
