Bee and Flower from Rarotonga

Out in the middle of the great pacific can be found the small island chain collectively known as the Cook Islands. My wife and I honeymooned there in February, and now I can present to you two of my favorite shots from the trip. These shots were taken on the main island, Rarotonga, at the beautiful little botannical gardens on the south side.

The pictures are absolutely stunning!

Now, as for the pic of the honeybee, how do those tiny wings carry that large bee around all day? Amazing.

Thanks for the compliments! The camera is a digital, the Canon S30. Both pics were taken with the 'macro' option on, which is used for close-up shots. For the bee, the shot you see is the 5th one I took; the only one that was focused.

Normally, bees scare the living crap outta me, but the photos are gorgeous! ;)
