11/14/2003: Nut-rolling guy celebrates English food

Brits are already aware of this story, sorry. Remember Mark McGowan, the gent who pushed a nut seven miles through central London with his nose? He has begun his next project, which is to defend the traditional English fare of baked beans, chips (fries), and sausage. By sitting in the beans, stuffing chips up his nose, and wrapping 48 sausages around his head.

He'll be in the food for eight hours a day, for 12 days.

He said: "I suppose I am the British alternative to David Blaine, but sitting in a plastic box is nothing compared to what I will be doing."

I'm in favor.

Are you calling this guy an animal by posting the pic on Friday?? ;)
Undertoad • Nov 14, 2003 1:33 pm
Nope. For the first Friday in a long line of Fridays, I don't have any animals in the queue!

He is an animal.

This reminds me of The Who's The Who Sell Out album cover.

Well, I must admit that this is a creative way to waste time.

The least he could do is lose the protective layer. Any point he's trying to make is diluted by the fact that hes only doing half-assed.

This reminds me of Ann Margaret's scene in the movie version of The Who's Tommy.

What is it about The Who and baked beans?

He is going to need those chips up his nose -- beans start to ferment really quickly. I would not want to smell it in three days. But yes, I agree, if you're going to do it, off with the plastic suit.

He also wore a bandage on his nose while pushing the peanut. What a puss.

I'm pretty sure that Ms. Margaret's turn in the musical fruit was a nod to the aforementioned Who album.

wearing a plastic suit is cheating. He obviously has no art ethic.
