I just finished reding Vonneguts "Welcome to the Monkey House" a collection of his short stories. F*@$in incredible. The Foster Portfolio was especially beautiful. That's right I, an acknowledged guy, called a piece of writing beautiful. And I'd do it again! Beautiful! There see!

I went through a significant Vonnegut Period .... started with reading Slaughterhouse-5 when I was in Junior High, progress through God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, Cat's Cradle, Mother Night, Breakfast of Champions. I really thought he lost his edge around Slapstick.

(and whenever someone says they're going to take a leak, I wonder why they want to steal a mirror ...)

Check out "God Bless you, Dr. Kevorkian". Easily completed in under an hour, but is a wonderful showcase of his particular beand of humour.

Slaughterhouse Five...still one of my favorite all time tales, both book and film.

My favorite Vonnegut-contrived image is still the alien, trying in vain to communicate by tap dancing and farting, before being slaughtered...
