8/16: Seagull eating chips

Speaking of animals pictured doing weird things. Nobody ever told this gull that it was getting too fat, watching too much TV while snacking down on rancid peanut oil and genetically modified potatoes. I wonder what happens if it eats Wow! chips with olestra? Or what it thinks of salt and vinegar chips (which are not made with vinegar at all)?

they had to hide the camera in the bag of chips? didn't know seaguls were camera shy. Or maybe cameras are one of the seagul's most feared natural predators...

I dunno...the seagulls that congregate on the parking lot near my house seem fairly docile...they don't tend to freak out easily around humans.

So the poor sea gull gets to drop over with a heart attack from clooged arteries along with the rest of us. Get it some red wine - fast!

Seriously, it is a terrific picture.

Heh! I saw another gem today.

Wonderful. First laugh of the day.

I see they are having a bronze statue made. Years hence archeologists will dig up the statue and deduce that the people who lived in Norway worshipped penguins.

I always wondered what people are going to think we did 10000 years from now, if we haven't driven the species (or planet) to extinction by then. It's funny all the conceptions we have about the Romans, Greeks and such, and I ahve to wonder how much of it is wrong.

I have read of a prominent geologist who said that he was satisfied if he was right 50% of the time. I would suppose archeologists would be the same.

Alpha - read Non Sequitor, great cartoon.
One of htem, in the future these archiologists dig up a typical office - cubicle farm, one says to the other "must be some kind of prison"
not the best of them by far but it just came to mind..
