Another 'spode find. Scientists reported on October 23, 2003 that they had found the first evidence of a brain tumor in a dinosaur, in the fossilized remains of a creature that lived 72 million years ago in present-day Montana. 'Although we haven't conclusively identified the type of brain tumor found in this specimen, we are sure the tumor impaired the mobility of the dinosaur,' said Rachel Reams, a veterinary pathologist at Eli Lilly and Co. who participated in the research.

Interesting!

I wonder how or why you become "a veterinary pathologist at Eli Lilly and Co"? A vet that would rather try to figure out how/why animals died than try to save them? I suppose it follows that a private practice is not viable, if that's the case.
The bad news is Fluffy is dead.
The good news is I know exactly why Fluffy is dead.
No, private practice wouldn't be sucessful. :(

Maybe that T-Rex in Jurasic(sp?) Park had a headache?
Good find Els.

And I would bet this critter's HMO is still fighting against paying out the benefits. Probably still be alive, otherwise.

Actually, this picture lends some sort of hope when it comes to determining root cause of some cancers.

It potentially downgrades 'environmental' factors as the primary source of cancerous tumors.

Reasearch of late indicates links between multi-homed (2 or more infecting agents in the same tissue) infections due to bacteria, viruses, micoplasm, yet to be seen microbacteria, and possibly fungi.

Stomach is probably cancer possibly linked to helicobactor pylorie. Stomach ulcers are the result of h.pylorie type infections and now can be cured with antibiotics.

Cervical cancer is possibly linked to same agents that cause clamydia and Herpies Simplex 2....

We may indeed be fighting an old enemy who has been hiding throughout all time. Once we know that enemy we can defeat ir and perhaps our lives will blessed with fewer unnecessary medical tradegies.
