If you're around my age the Miracle on Ice was a huge event. If you are an American hockey fan you probably owe a nod of thanks to
Herb Brooks for the huge boost.
Perhaps the greatest moment in US sports history...arguably in the top 5 or 10 Greatest Sports Moments ever.

I still get chills when I think of the hit that the American player put on the Russki, knocking him clear over the boards an into the Russian bench.
The Miracle on Ice is and will continue to be one of the finest moments in American sports. I can't really imagine what could top it...at least, for me.
