Not a typical place for me to go on vacation but I had a good time and enjoyed my days away from the hotel zone immensely. These are four "cliche shots" of the area.
1. Chichen Itza - The Pyramid of Kukulkan

3. A Green Turtle at the Isla Mujeres Turtle Farm
4. The Beach In Front of the Hotel
cliche or not, the second and fourth one really appeal to me. great pics arz.

Quite frankly, I'm disappointed. When I see "generic cliched photos of Cancun" in the subject header, I'm expecting to see half-naked girls.

The reason they're "cliche" is they're of really cool stuff that anybody going there would want pictures of. Nothing wrong with that. Thanks for sharing them.
Are they farming the green turtles to turn loose or for soup?
I thought the whole point of Cancun was to chill at the beach every day and get drunk and laid every night.

The turtles are raised to be either 1) set free to breed in the wild or 2) kept in large ocean pens for their captive breeding program. The guy I photo'd is 8 months old and about a foot long. Very cute little guys, I must say.

I'm jealous.. my personal vacatoin fantasy has always been to visit the archaeological sites in Egypt... but I'm also somewhat interested in the Maya ruins. Nice pictures.
