Some thoughts:

On reading the first posted article I thought, [sarcasm]"Oh my, her parents must be so proud."[/sarcasm]

On reading the second, I realized that the bar has been raised and nice jewish girls can no longer exact revenge on their parents by marrying a goy, or worse yet, a shwarzer.

Some crazy people do have a clear recognition that they are crazy, but there are enough that don't that they nicely fit right on into the stereotype.

Eheh. See, it was found that the west bank offices were holding some thugs and now a lot of the ISM is under indictment. The ISM explicitly supports the use of terrorism.

Remember the standoff at the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem? The ISM was there, acting as "human shields" for hostage-holding terrorists holed up inside.

More alarming in general, two suicide bombers were recently found to have been British nationals and there is a concern that even if the Pals run out of "splodeydopes" they can continue to import them from around the world.

This girl is a TOOL. 100%. She's spouting nonsense. She has no concept. The reporter has no concept either. Now don't you be like them and start spreading a lotta nonsense. All you have to do is remember a few past events and all will be much clearer.

She's on the ground there. You are sitting in America reading pro-Israeli news. She may be a tool but she is at least modeling non-violent behavior. I have no idea about the "truth" there, what I see are two tribes killing each other a pretty good pace and America choosing to be part of it.

This is the part I was thinking about today while wandering in the woods. When we were kids, we were indoctrinated into the fear/hate relationship with the Russians. Now, after all those paranoid thoughts about a pending nuclear exchange, it turns out the Russian people were ok but their government was insane. As a breeder, I'm in a position to not allow that to happen with my own kids. The Soviet Union fell and I've chosen not to take on a new enemy. I don't hate Arabs, Islamists, Israelis, Brits, French, Mexicans, Atheists, Hindus etc... I'm old enough to choose not to participate in any of this hive activity. As confused as I am by collective hate, my own children, having been raised by me, will happily find it incomprehensible.

It's an admirable approach, not to seek enemies, but history says sometimes your enemy chooses you and you don't have any say about it. In the case of the tribes involved here, it didn't help the parents to move halfway around the world.

Before taking your word for anything as a parent on this I will need to hear from parents who have had kids through age 19. I suspect the youngsters will find the enemies wherever they are.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, yup, sure, OK. You mean "rebellious youth" will skip this generation and your kids won't poo-poo your ideas like every other generation has?:D

Nope. I mean that when they get pissed at Dad for telling them to pay their own way and they look for Dads enemies to hang out with, they're going to be looking for a long long time. They might try marrying lawmakers:mad: or something equally hideous but thats not quite the same thing as joining the other side in a blood feud.

My reading of US history indicates that, more often than not, we choose our enemies.

The haters, Arafat, the clerics, Sharon, bin Laden etc.. need proof that outsiders hate them to survive and maintain power. If the suicide bombings ended today, Sharon would disappear from Israels power structure. I'm not participating in any collective hate because that is playing their game by their rules.

The juxtaposition of those last two sentences was the author's, not mine. His description of events is less than 10 days old.

This gent "on the ground" is telling you that he is trying to stop the Israeli practice of knocking down the houses of suicide bombers. The "pro-Israeli news" omits that point and so does Laura Kraftowitz... artfully. She has deceived herself and wants to deceive you. Her omissions are remarkable.

I doubt Gandhi would treasure this particular form of non-violence, which specifically defends the most abominable form of violence one can imagine.

That is, the blowing up of sbarro restaurants. Geez they make good pizza!

Erm i think she is trying to stop them knocking down the house of the guy's family AFTERWARDS....what's wrong with that? It's like bashing the family of a murderer or robbing the house of a burglar, it's unfair, unjust vigilante bullshit.

Well you can't threaten them with anything even if you could find all the pieces. Maybe they'll think twice if they know their loved ones will take the heat if they "splode".

My favorite word there was "unfair", as if life is anything but.

"Fair" is not very multicultural, cuz it assumes both sides have a similar concept of justice.

It would appear that Likud and Hamas have very similiar visions of justice. Before 911, I believed most Americans found that vision foreign, now I know better.

I think "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life" is one thing most cultures can find fair. It remains, as it was in Hammaurabi's day, the lowest common denominator of justice.

Anyone euphemistically calling the suicide bombers "martyrs" is obviously not in it for justice or fairness, though.
