zippyt sends this along pointing out the stark contrasts. This one goes into the category of earth as art, or just very cool shots.

It comes from here where you can find many more awesome shots like it, from the totally amazing Iceland.

I would like to go there, Bjork notwithstanding, and I hear it's not that expensive for the flights.

Yeah, Rekyavik (except, you know, spelled correctly and all) is a frequent midway stopping point twixt the USA and Europe, so it's not surprising it's reasonably priced.

Ice cracking looks very similar under a microscope, with an ice cube, and with a glacier.
