It's just making me sad.

I've got folks in my Bacefook feed worshiping nurses and demanding that we open up right now. *sigh*
glatt • May 7, 2020 12:55 pm
It used to be that you had to convince some gatekeeper, like when writing a letter to the editor, before you could share your thoughts publicly. The internet has dramatically lowered the barriers to publishing your thoughts. And lots of stupid people are finding their voice.
Griff • May 7, 2020 2:34 pm
It sounds elitist but we need something like that. On the Cellar for instance there is usually someone willing to call us on our shit. We can't seem to do that on Zuckerberg's hot or not chick site.

Nurses, Doctors, cops and firemen are receiving hero hosannas right now.
A year ago and I suspect two years in the future, there was/will be bitching about their pay and benefits are too damn high.

The public is not fit to publish.

Didn't Trump say if we let all doctors and nurses die, then it would decrease the cost of Obamacare? If he didn't, it's just a matter of time before he does.
glatt • May 8, 2020 5:18 pm
I'm no Trump supporter, but I think it's unlikely he will say that.
monster • May 8, 2020 6:07 pm
You can't fix stupid, but you can unfollow its purveyors so it doesn't pop up in your basefuck feed, and -if you feel something needs to be said somewhere- you can post generally/vaguely about the contradictory nature of such stances
Griff • May 9, 2020 8:49 am
I decided to post a directly contradictory opinion on a shared "I won't take a Corona virus vaccine post." I was direct but not confrontational.

It was also unlikely that someone who routinely screws contractors and can murder someone on Fifth Ave would be elected president.

Irrelevant it it is unlikely. It describes him accurately. He lies - constantly. Ironically, only a lying person could deny it.

After being exposed to the constant paltering here, the rest of us have acquired partial immunity to Trump.

Now we'll be able to kick back and enjoy the new wave alternative truth that's become all the rage for another four years.

Except for the old ones who are set in their ways and can't adapt. They'll continue doing their thing and fall by the wayside. Too bad; but, they won't be around much longer anyway. [/thisisakindness]

See, the Trump supporters worship the idea of doctors and nurses. They may get confused about how to show it when they don’t wear masks, but they legitimately value doctors and nurses, (and cops and firemen.) We know Trump plays to his base. He’s pretty good at it. It’s really unlikely that he’s going to attack the heros of his supporters.

Enemies of that support base are Kim of N Korea and Putin of Russia. Trump praises them. His base loves him for doing so. Go figure.

The Don (like any good mafia boss) praises the KKK, White Supremacists, and Nazis. Your reasoning says only those are his supporters? Well, no, not exactly. He plays to people who automatically believe and love the bully. Those are a typical Trump supporter.

Hitler did same. Their friends, neighbors, and employers were Jews. Hitler attacked Jews using hate. Then many adults, who are children, did exactly what they were ordered to believe. Hate Jews. Adult children love and understand emotions - ie hate. And love the bully who promotes it. They can be lied too constantly. And love that too.

Examples in the Cellar demonstrate a typical Trump supporter. They attack others rather than address issues. Since that is what they were ordered to believe. So it must be true. Their emotion (not logic) justifies their love of hate, the lies, and that bully.

Trump's many supporters should hate one another. And Trump's admiration for America's adversaries. They don't. Intelligent thought has nothing to do with it. They only believe what their emotions tell them.

Extremist: a liar lies repeatedly rather than admit Trump lies constantly. Trump can even praise rapists, despots, racists, publicly confessed criminals, and torturers. They even love him if he murders someone on Fifth Ave. Trump said exactly who is supporters are. Those are extremists who automatically believe what they are ordered to believe. Will even post personal attacks in the Cellar rather than speak like a moderate in a logical, unemotional manner.

Well it's Mother's Day and it looks like Pete is the only mother in the country social distancing.
sexobon • May 10, 2020 11:50 am
Don't forget about Benny just because he's adopted. He's hers too! Benny can stand in for the others, maybe take mom for a nice stroll around the neighborhood, spend some quality time together.
Griff • May 10, 2020 11:56 am
All good advice outside of "neighborhood."

Figure of speech.
Griff • May 10, 2020 12:04 pm
Well we can walk by the chicken coop. :)

Hang a sign from Benny's collar that says: I'm with Mom.

If a sign that hangs from his neck is a figure 8, is that a noose?

Maybe that is why a seven is considered a lucky number?

No, it means he's already been fed, unlike the Prime Minister of Hungry.

Well, even without tw's contribution, I can see we're enjoying a fit of the sillies.
