I'm sorry but we need to talk about Joe Biden

Holy crap. This is from today, and it's stunning how bad he is. He's losing it. It's way too obvious.
Can someone take him aside, while there's still time, and tell him it just isn't going to work?
Two mentally incompetent Presidents in a row, we've done this before but it's less than ideal. MSNBC carried a lot of water for this guy, did they even consider fitness?
Don't care, still voting against Trump.
There's still time. Have someone else run against Trump... this isn't going to work out
We need both party candidates to be the best people we have to offer but they are not sending their best

Unfortunately, the democratic process seems to have chosen Joe. So I guess I'm gonna vote for him.

Of course! Joe's gonna be bumbly and likely won't serve 4 years but he won't be actively working against the interest of the country. They're likely to slip Cuomo into the VP slot.

Dems aren't interested in sending the best insomuch as sending the most politically correct. That's why Joke didn't say he's choosing the best qualified candidate as a running mate, he pledged to choose a woman regardless. That he's in and out of it at various times makes him a better puppet for a Dem House to manipulate when the House is looking to regain power lost to the Presidency. Dems don't seem to have learned from the McCain-Palin candidacy that their strategy is obsolete and the priority must be on backing stronger individuals who run.

I'm thinking Stacy Abrams.

Yup.

We shall take it under advisement.
If we want female, most qualified that's Warren.
People won't appreciate this kind of gamesmanship, where the wink wink idea is to elect one and immediately replace with another. And they shouldn't!
This must be handled before convention.
Don't care, still voting against Trump.
Double yup.He sounds like Grandpa Simpson. I don't mean this as an ad hominem attack. He's having trouble conjugating his sentences, if that's the right word. He says, "No one's authorized to put anything out that's not in my name" when he means no one is putting anything out in my name that's not authorized by me --he gets lost in the sentence. In the time it takes to complete one idea.
If this is the best the Democrats can do, I'm really leaning towards being convinced that they're losing on purpose.

I don't feel the need to give up any senators.

It doesn't. There is no rule that says it is.
And after the last 3 years or so, I don't want to hear about political norms. There aren't any.
I don't see any problem with putting up a strong VP candidate. Nobody is saying force him out. If the Dems get in the situation the Republicans are in right now, then they ask him to step aside for the good of the country.
More likely that the Dems are counting on the Republicans to impeach him ASAP.
Problem is, his issue seems to be getting worse. He can't even read a numbered list without immediately losing his place. Every answer had some sort of fumble, and these weren't hardball questions. Maybe it was a bad night for some reason.
I feel bad for him, and not snarky-bad either. Somebody needs to gently take him aside and say, Joe, for the good of the world, for your own legacy, consider heading off to the retirement home for ex-leaders. The problem is, everybody who would tell him that does not want Bernie, and Bernie is still electoral plan B.

I'm still okay with this. I couldn't care less if he craps himself at the podium.
Neither could I. It's if he craps himself in the Oval Office or the offices of other world leaders that I'm concerned about. Joke doesn't appear to have what it takes to rebound from that.
You know Joe's last name starts with the letter B and not K, right?
UT, I'm not talking to you--chill out.

I still don't care. When I say "anyone but Trump," I mean exactly what I say.
Trump: We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself!
Biden: We have to take care of the cure, that will make the problem worse, no matter what!
...
Imagine these two in a Presidential debate...
I still don't care. When I say "anyone but Trump," I mean exactly what I say.
Oh, I can appreciate that. I'm an independent. I voted for Bill, against Dubya, and for Obama. In '16 though, I was ABC (Anyone But Clinton) and that's how Trump got my vote. Now, I am NOT an
Anyone But Biden type; however, he hasn't convinced me he can be better than the incumbent, just different. Either choice is a big gamble. I may just let my bet ride on the one with the most current institutional knowledge and demonstrated ability to rebound.
There's also the consideration that in '16, Biden chose not to run. He might've been the incumbent now. The world; however, doesn't wait on individual misfortune and he made his choice between self and country knowing that. Considering the way he seems now, it may be too late for him even if he's feeling ready for it. Life isn't fair.
I feel the difference is Biden would have a Dr Fauci type instead of Pence running the show.
Surrounded by competent people even I could run the country.

Not this kid. I am far too hostile towards people to want that job.
However, when popular acclaim sweeps me into office, you can have the Secretary of Random Beatings slot.
Not me, I want to be in the center of the accolades and wealth without any responsibility.
You want to be First Lady? !!!
Sure, I'd put Nancy Reagan to shame.
I think I said this before elsewhere, but agree with Bruce that Biden will surround himself with qualified advisers and even through the mental fog, will take the time to make smart well thought out decisions.
Trump makes decisions impulsively, without information, and a person is more likely to make mistakes when doing that.
It's been a real change seeing Trump rely on medical experts recently. I'm glad to see it, but it goes very much against his style and I wonder if he's feeling emasculated.
Do you think Melania cut him off to gain his compliance?
I'm sure this doesn't add anything new, but I have to say what's on my mind, I just can't stop seeing it. The problem with Biden isn't gaffes, it isn't that he says weird things or uses archaic phrases, it isn't that he isn't able to express ideas clearly, and it isn't even that he gets lost in the middle of almost every sentence.
The problem with Biden is right there in front of our eyes-- just look at him. It's visceral. He looks tired, confused, and weak. He appears to be absolutely DRAINED of energy. Somebody give this guy some ƒucking uppers before letting him on camera. Make sure he gets a good night's sleep. Do SOMETHING. Nobody votes for a weak, old man with no energy. A facelift doesn't fix this.
It comes from all those years of sniffing women's hair. He's been inhaling the myriad of chemicals they put in it. The guy needs to down a shot of clarifying shampoo or something. Then he can go back to sniffing woman's hair by using it as a face mask. People will accept that.
I was listening to Michael Lewis talking about the Fifth Risk. This was an old interview but he finished by saying his worry is that now that we have Trump folks will think anybody can be President. Biden at this point is anybody. We need to do better.
He did a decent remote bit with Jimmy Fallon yesterday, much more lucid, and I felt better about him. Except at one point he said:
"I have five grandchildren. Every day we talk or we text. I’ve got family scattered around, like I suspect everybody does."
This morning it was noted that Joe Biden has seven grandchildren.
A couple of them probably already stopped talking to crazy grandpa.
God help us, Biden is obviously slipping, but he'll be running against a President who just said this, "You can call it a germ, you can call it a flu, you can call it a virus, you know you can call it many different names. I'm not sure anybody even knows what it is." ... on March 27th
This is the cursed timeline. It all started when we went to bed with Al Gore being the President and woke up with Bush magically being the President instead.
They are not sending their best.
But, how will that will play out in the fall: if Biden is the actual nominee, the demand (here and elsewhere) for the POTUS to be a precise communicator will fall away. There will be Times editorials saying it's not really that important, I wager.

It all fell apart when Lemmy Killmeister died.
The Times will recruit Hillary, the Orange one will be re-elected, and Pence will be President. /my brain just vomited that out
Well there it is… it's all over. Why buy the cow if you're getting the milk for free (especially if you suspect mad cow disease).
Biden says his campaign is setting up call with Trump
Former Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday that his aides are working to set up a call between him and President Trump to discuss the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Biden offered earlier this week to speak with Trump about the government's strategy to combat the coronavirus outbreak. The president told reporters on Wednesday that he would "absolutely take his call."...
It all fell apart when Lemmy Killmeister died.
this is correct
Trump says if he hadn't saved the day 2.2 million Americans would have died, but his heroic action cut that to only one to two hundred thousand. What a guy.
He didn't get the wall built and he didn't procrastinate long enough on the pandemic response to take out Hillary. One more strike and he's out.
Unless you're invested in Trump's holdings, he accepts no responsibility for that whatsoever. Try suing the Chinese for any losses.
Babylon Bee:
Search For The Two Best Possible Candidates For President Concludes
“This is proof democracy doesn’t work,” said political analyst, Willard Bradley. “People are given this absolutely impossible choice and told they have to pick. I mean everyone loves Donald Trump, but we’re also in complete awe of Joe Biden. Yet we have to pick one. It’s like being asked to pick between sunshine and the laughter of babies.”
It all started when we went to bed with Al Gore being the President and woke up with Bush magically being the President instead.
A better starting point is with the first Reagan Administration, for that is when it became obvious the Democratic Party then set Party over Country. They haven't wavered since in their dedication to oligarchic leadership by a political class, one modeled on themselves -- they're not democratic any more.
This disgusts the man of liberty. I am sooo disgusted.
The Dem primary was an agony in eight fits. No confidence they'll have anything to do with the national interest if they get in, so guess who I have too much integrity to vote for.
