Keep Them Entertained
Here's my
pitch*.
* not really my pitch, it belongs to the University of Queensland.
Are you not entertained?!?
Not really. All I saw was a funnel in a bell jar with a clock. The second hand on the clock was moving, and there was no sound. So no I was not entertained.
I'd forgotten about that experiment.
Has it dripped yet?
I noticed the time isn't correct.
It has.
During a brief period of technical difficulty where the recording equipment was not working.
Teach the numbers...

and how to count sheep...

Or count like an Egyptian...
There is not an English number on the regions table!
5 is a 7, 6 is a 2, and 9 is a 2 in high heels. ;)
Puzzles will keep them occupied, especially if you say no food till it's done.
I found the member of the MeowMeow tribe.
ETA: I want that Kodak puzzle set so bad.
NASA has a moon puzzle that'd keep my brain occupied.
I have Cats so puzzles just won't do.
This easier than the cats...
Can't fool me, they're all different!
Excluding the numbers.
Well, I found one that was different, but then after Clod's comment, I found two more that were different in a different way, so then I stopped looking, because I figured they were all unique in some little detail. And I'm not talking about the numbers.
One doesn't have camel toe, one is looking in a different direction, one has a different tail, and I stopped there.
One doesn't have camel toe

Nevermind, give 'em a book...
Those are pretty good. :D
Chicken's easy, still workin' on the cat
Sharp-eyed grandson had to clue me. Then we found two.
Family agrees: send more.
Work on this for awhile, find the Beatles songs...
Thirty - nine?!
Ok... It's gonna be a minute.
I Am The Walrus, that's all I got.
ETA: Oh, and Yellow Submarine.

I think one of the best way to keep kids entertained is to buy them any musical instrument (only in cases they want it).For example, recently I've purchased
drums to my kid and that was the perfect way to entertain him for long hours. I think it may even help him in his future.
I think I found the putty tat.
Spoiler Alert: ...Is it behind the tv?...<---highlight
That tv being off center in it's cubby would drive me batty. Short drive.
If G is right, then it looks like 1 down, 8 to go.
Not necessarily, we can only see paws, so the rest of puddy tat may show signs of some of those eight have been used. :haha:
What’s the tie in to the apple? I see Adam, Eve, and the snake. Next to Eve is Isaac Newton, then Snow White, Bill Gates and the old hag who gave Snow White the poisoned apple. Don’t know who the blond is, but the guy next to her could be William Tell then his son. Or the guy at the head of the table is Tell and guy with the crossbow is with the blonde... or not?
Anyway, those are my guesses.
The blonde is either Aphrodite or Helen of Troy--in Greek mythology, Paris had a golden apple inscribed "for the most beautiful" and had to pick which goddess to give it to. Each one offered him stuff, but he chose Aphrodite because she promised to give him the most beautiful human as his wife (Helen), thus starting the Trojan War.
I believe it was Eris (the goddess), not Paris, who threw the apple. Paris was picked as judge by the other goddesses trying to claim it.
Right, Eris was pissed because she wasn't invited to the party, so she tossed the apple out hoping to start a jealous mosh pit of vanity...
OK, that leaves the dude in the blue shirt next to her and the guy at the head of the table. I think one of them is William Tell. The guy at the head of the table has a quiver of arrows and the blue shirt has a crossbow. I don't know which Tell used to shoot the apple off the boy.
I think the crossbow is William Tell, since he's more properly seated next to the boy. The traditional bowman looks like Robin Hood, but I can't find any connection other than a random episode of the old "Adventures of Robin Hood" TV show called "An Apple for the Archer."
You're right, Wiki say Tell used a crossbow.
All I found was The Minstrel and the Apple: A Story of Avalon and Robin Hood, on a fan fiction page.
I had a tough time with this one. The caption said if it didn't move while you walked by you wouldn't see it.
I looked and looked, is that a bird, is that a squirrel, is there a snake in the grass? Couldn't see it.

Out of frustration I checked the comments.
1 - I found it. Oh shut up.
2 - I'd be dead. Aha, something dangerous.
Went back and spotted it right away.
I believe I had the exact same sequence of events on the same blog.
Chomp!
Always look for the eye(s).
OK here's an easy one, just 1 difference between the two pictures. I nailed this one quickly.
Think I got it.
I'll wait before declaring.
Another dang copperhead, plain as day. We don't even have 'em here.
The other one doesn't make me too happy, either.
Nope, not a snake. :headshake
Talk about busy work, have them figure out a Knights tour.
On a standard 16 by 16 board the knight lands on every square only once.
He/she is watching, waiting, probably going through the recipe file... :yum:
Maybe just checking his fieldbook to figure out what the hell it is.
Files yes, books no?
And what is the prey?
gotta go to the original photo and then you can see it.

On April 1st Norman Rockwell would release a painting that had deliberate mistakes in it for people to hunt for them.
This one has 57 mistakes for you to hunt. Some are obvious, some are very difficult, and some... are you shittin' me?

Keep them entertained or they will entertain themselves...
