Firearms Update

We've had a lot of late night shooting in the grifftopia region. It might be from the multi-tour Afghan Vet on the next hill. Pete would like to learn to shoot, so there's no time like the present I guess. Will warn the Vietnam Vet ahead of time. She saw a conservative meme somewhere that suggested only robbing people with Bernie signs in their yard... blursed motivation.

Pistol Pete?

Shotgun Pete?

Double-aught Pete.

Better
Gravdigr • Mar 21, 2020 3:09 pm
Don't piss off Pete?
Griff • Mar 21, 2020 3:30 pm
She shot very well and safely. We used the 20 ga Ithaca Featherlight.

I've seen more than one "funny" "meme" about how "I don't need to stock up on toilet paper because I've got a lot of guns" which is really "funny" because they think they're bragging about being a tough guy, but they're really bragging about being ready/willing/able to shoot their neighbors at the earliest possible opportunity.
Griff • Mar 22, 2020 9:36 am
Yeah, I often wonder who their imaginary bad guys are.
monster • Mar 22, 2020 5:47 pm
Don't be daft, they're just going to hunt wild toilet rolls. A bit rougher than the farmed ones at your grocery store, but still perfectly serviceable. Plucking them can be a challenge for the novice, though.

Nothing like fresh from the woods tp.

Just squeeze the trigger, like a package of Charmin.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I don't think I'll ever understand American gun culture. But I suppose Americans will never understand cricket.

Americans don't understand American gun culture. I have no idea really.

Pologirl just relocated from her apartment in Tallahassee to her boyfriend's parents' home right up at the end of the panhandle (before Tally goes into lockdown tonight -she lives alone and would be miserable) She just messaged me and I was going to share in one of the "what's amusing you" threads, but now this seems an appropriate place:

first she told me how beans are always made with ham which surprised her because her eyes tell her vegetable but her tastebuds disagree, and then said:

I'm immersed in other southern culture too

the gun safe is in the guest room lol

the low down I got on the guest room was "you can look in any drawers and use empty ones, just don't open the top one because it's full of ammo so it's heavy"
sexobon • Mar 25, 2020 10:59 pm
Heavy man, heavy. The place sounds top-drawer.
fargon • Mar 25, 2020 11:15 pm
I don't have a problem with that house at all.
monster • Mar 25, 2020 11:43 pm
Pologirl is a Brit and was brought up that way. We don't do firearms and it's not a very popular thing in our little pocket right here either. Ten miles west, maybe, but not right here

I concur, even a small drawer full of ammo is very very heavy.
If you use cheap furniture steel toed shoes are a must. :yesnod:

OTOH, if ammo is stored loosely in drawers, there's a remote chance that the sudden impact from a fall could cause one round of ammo to hit the primer of another round and detonate it. So, if she drops her drawers, she might get a bang out of it! :lol2:

 I think the whole idea of her being in the guest room is to try and stop that happening. They're a tiny bit conservative too, I hear....
