As the vanquished charwoman of time begins to Shake'n'Vac the shag pile of eternity, I find that it's time to say...

Goodnight. ;)

Me too. But I have a busy day today. My sister that I haven't seen in 20 years is coming today.

Good Nite Y'all. It has been a very bad day, The Runt is in the oncology ward of the local hospital for a couple of days they say. She may need a new liver. What she has is Porphyria, she has already had cancer. She is a very sick girl. Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
BigV • Jan 29, 2020 10:24 pm

Nite Nite Y'all. The Runt is still very sick, I fiund out today that she also has Lupus. We are going to get all fixed up again good as new. My oldest little sister Widget said today that if she needs a liver The Runt can have some of hers. Things are looking up everyday gets better.
Good Night and God Bless.

PS Her disease is spelled Prophyria.

All that.

Thank all of you.

An update The Runt is getting better every day. We got to talk to one of her providers today and he said "Two more rounds of Heman and she will be good enough to go home".
Praise The Lord.
She is a lot more lucid than she was. I am no longer worried about having to make those phone calls. We can sit and have a conversation whereas before she only knew I was there because there was a bottle of Dr Pepper on her tray table. Today when we came in she was getting her IVs, and writing in her book She was very talkative and animated her usual bundle of energy.I will sleep good for the first time in a week.

So Thank You All again for the thoughts, and prayers.:biggrinlo

Hooray! Get some rest, you deserve it.
Gravdigr • Feb 10, 2020 4:37 am
Momdigr just stuck her head in and reminded me I'm supposed to be in bed, "doctor says so."

Then I looked up at the New Posts page and saw this Nite Nite thread...

I guess I'll take the hint(s)...

Nite nite, I'll be staring at the ceiling.
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 10, 2020 2:05 pm
Mount a TV on the ceiling to keep you from concentrating on not being able to sleep. You might drift off if distracted.
Gravdigr • Feb 15, 2020 4:02 am
I might go back to listening to talk radio, w/volume just low enough I can't understand what they're saying.
Gravdigr • Feb 16, 2020 6:17 am
Well, this Cellar session didn't take long...
Urbane Guerrilla • Feb 24, 2020 8:42 pm
But praying for continued recovery for The Runt.

I'm more of a believer now than I had been -- quadruple bypass surgery over the New Year. I've found out how many real friends I've got, and have become more, well, spiritual. Brushes with death will do that I guess, but they caught my trouble in pretty good time. Quite unexpected, as AFAIK our family isn't prone to heart disease; it's probably the diabetes.
fargon • Feb 25, 2020 5:53 pm
Thank you Sir, we pray for you daily.

(There is a rather nice, fairly slow rendering of the pipe-tune 'Hector the Hero' on YouTube. It's... soothing. First solo pipes, then recorder, then both mixed together. You both might find it pleasant. I'm listening to it as I type.) (can't link so good on this borrowed facility computer)
