An interesting comparison on Chicago and Houston.
Of course it's apples and oranges with Chicago having this gang/drug/turf war going on, but still interesting.
Land area of Chicago: 234 sq. miles
Land area of Houston: 669 sq. miles
Suburbia, even poor suburbia, ain't the same as high-rise ghettos.
You mean all Chicago needs is deodorant?
Plus maybe some good tacos. It's hard to fight a gang war with tacos in your hands.

Good point.
The imbalance of legal vs illegal weapons is also a thing but flooding Chicago with legal weapons probably isn't a winner either.
I agree, the author of that thing was trying to make it a case for guns. I'm not buying his argument but thought the comparison data was interesting. I wonder how the police budgets would compare, Chicago's must be an order of magnitude or two, or three, higher than Houston.

It's difficult for poor people to make money selling black market guns in a city like Houston where more types of guns, availability, and concealed carry are legal. So they go to Chicago. It's their kind of town.
It's not guns its cultural. Y'all are saying the same thing
