It's a camp and hike. The weather doesn't look great right now, but it could change a few times in 2 weeks.
The weather was close to perfect. A pretty gassed couple this Monday morning so it's off to work to get some rest. What a great outing! We drove to the ADKs, took the heavy packs into the leanto, and set up camp Friday. We climbed Panther, Couchsacraga, and Santanoni Saturday. Broke camp Sunday and drove home. Excellent Cheeseburger at Owl's Head Pub / Long Lake Diner. Pics and trail descriptions to follow. This was the bomb.

Wow, that is nice weather, pure luck up that way. Oh wait, you had Pete with you, the weather gods just smiled and gazed. ;)
Couchascraga, which has never been pronounced the same way twice, has a bit of a reputation as a tough get. I think we were lucky to catch a dry spell because the bog was less imposing. The real bugger to me was going down the steep face of Santanoni at the end of the day.
Downhills are the worst. But a long rugged downhill is still better than a day at work.
