I’ll go first. My friend’s ex-wife is a “paid groupie” for a metal band. Is she a prostitute?

define "paid groupie" What is she paid for exactly? The hanging around or the sex?

My Mechanical Engineer son is driving across the country from Michigan to California with his team to race the Baja car they built from scratch. Some time this morning a text came through saying "we just got service". My first though was they must've reached Las Vegas and stopped at a brothel. Am I a bad mama?

(second thought was there are many mech eng majors from a top engineering school driving to compete in a car they built from scratch, why would they stop halfway to have someone service their truck.

Finally I made it to cell phone service. But one would normally expect "I got service" in that context....)

Yeah, depends on what she's paid to do.

The we in we got service may stem from team spirit on this quest.

I'd never heard of "paid groupie" before. It makes sense as these are some ugly mother-fuckers in a so-so band. I guess she's there to create the social media image. Regular prostitution seems more honest.

Only a prostitute if she's fucking them. Otherwise, she's a salesman
henry quirk • May 14, 2019 10:42 am
Yes.

As long as she calls the shots: there ain't nuthin' wrong with that.
Gravdigr • May 14, 2019 12:43 pm
Public Relations, maybe?

Prostitution is more honest. I guess it is marketing.

Yep.

"I guess it is marketing."

Mebbe so.

I think it depends on if she would have sex with them if they paid her or not.

She probably thinks of it as hanging with the band and getting an allowance.

Perhaps the young lady, the subject of this thread (so far), the [strike]professional[/strike] 'paid groupie' mentioned in the first post, is doing PR work for the band, as opposed to just fucking them.

Do try to keep up.:D

Look again, Grav--he wasn't actually asking, he was modifying the spelling for humorous intent. :)
Gravdigr • May 17, 2019 11:15 am
Ah, noel.

Thank you, Ms. Fobble, for pointing that out. I can't see for shit anymore.

As for this humorous intent you speak of, Ima hafta read up on that.:p:

Sorry, V.
