This is so true, nurses doing the actual work don't get many breaks...

But where do they play cards?

They're busy out running marathons:

I can see the problem with bathroom breaks for the female nurses because every break ties up two people. Chicks can only go to the bathroom alone at home. And if they have small kids they can't do that either. :haha:

I'm kidding, I have much respect for nurses, they do all the work the medical profession gets credit for. Every time I'm an inpatient I send flowers to the floor nurses when I get home. I'd like to think it brightens their day.

Patients in hospitals and nursing homes see flowers thinking it's such a nice touch and so thoughtful of the proprietors. They're never told when the flowers are leftovers that funeral homes have donated.

It said she did it to humiliate them. I doubt they were humiliated, or even knew it was happening.

Most people probably think of humiliation as being injurious to self esteem. Its definition; however, includes being injured in the esteem of others. It becomes a dignity issue and in healthcare settings dignity issues, even for patients who can't realize them, are GINORMOUS.

Keep in mind that for those who aren't self aware enough, there's someone with a power of attorney for healthcare whose opinion carries as much weight as the patient's would under normal circumstances. Violations can result not only in adverse administrative actions like job loss and loss of professional license; but, also criminal prosecution.
