Dave Assman(Aus-Man or Oss-Men) applied for a vanity license plate with his name from Saskatchewan.
The powers that be said No, that’s an offensive slogan. He appealed and they again said No the same day.
It’s not known if it was on, or they added to, the list of 3100 offensive nay-nays.
So he had a replica of the plate he wants, made as a vinyl decal, the size of his tailgate.
He really does want the plate though.
Should we blame Seinfeld?
In 2017 Lorne Grabher had a problem with Nova Scotia. Or Nova Scotia had a problem with him.
He had a plate made with their name for his Dad on his 65th birthday. Dad died in the ‘90s so Lorne took the plate over as
a sign of respect for his Dad, with the intention of passing it on to his kids.
Then Nova Scotia said turn that plate in you sexist pig, it’s an offensive slogan. He’s requested a meeting with the head of
Dudley Dowrong’s Dastardly Department, but was Denied.
Interestingly, his son sent him a Grabher plate from Alberta to hang on the front.
