I couldn't find a thread that seemed right so.....
Beest would have been so happy and excited that one of the sprogs is starting to play Dungeons and Dragons. And he would have laughed his arse off at which one....... neither of us would have predicted this.
Of course, first thing she did was buy a set or two of pretty dice ;) Our online conversation went something like this.....

She has a friend group who have game nights and one of them has decided the non-initiates are ready to move away from boards and cards.... said individual is a grad student. Strangely enough the gaming group beest introduced me to was also led by graduates grasping at the few remaining wisps of not real adult life.... ;)
(I was so shit at it, it was painful, but I liked the dice :) )

It's nothing short of a miracle that a game that's not played on a screen has survived this long.
we have a floor to ceiling cabinet of board and card games that are played regularly. As does my sister apparently. I just donated Buckaroo and Mousetrap to the thrift store, I think..... Figured we were probably done with them :lol:

That was the last game I bought beest. We used to play it in college. It didn't change all that much. Sadly we only managed to play about half a game, but the kids were intrigued. We mostly learned most of the rules we played in college were the drunk student rules :lol:

Parenting moment from a week ago;
Lil' Griff hosted our family Thanksgiving on Saturday because she had to work Thanksgiving. She splatchcocked a turkey with all the fixings and Lil' Pete made pie. I am pleased with what has been wrought.

Random:
Got news that SonofV is in the ER again post seizure. Nice thing about being in the ER is that shit gets done, services come to YOU. In this case a neurologist and a list of primary care physicians. Now that his health insurance is active for him in his current location, he's able to get access to these resources. Which will get him a diagnosis, leading to a prescription, leading to actual medicine, leading to seizure suppression.
I have a lot. I have much to be thankful for. Being grateful, being aware and mindful is the entrance to the path to happiness. I want to be happy, so I open my eyes and spirit to see the way.

Today he crushed a sando with the boys and went to praccy. He is on a MTB race team. He loves it.
We serviced his upper and lower forks. Fourth time was a charm. When we were wrapping g it up I asked him what advice he’d offer to someone who was going to service his forks for the first time. “Actually read the instructions.”
So, we learned something.

Instructions are good as a last resort. If you tried 3 times before caving in and reading them, then I'd say you did your due diligence on the man front. Glad to hear you're raising the boy properly.
