Can't beat live entertainment...

I did this with my pre-k class, kids love heavy equipment and holes in the ground.

In 1980, a young glatt in the red striped shirt pulled up a lawn chair to watch the crew repave his driveway.

Good entertainment!!!!!!!!!!

I think the fascination for kids with this kind of stuff stems from watching a crew do the same thing 12 times in a row and still not be sure what they'll do next. :haha:

The best free entertainment of one childhood summer was watching the lane being resurfaced about a mile and a half from this very spot.
Boiling bitumen first then truck loads of chippings followed by a heavy roller.
Today that would require a full scale road closure but we watched proceedings just a few feet away from a mobile cauldron.
Happy days! :)

Sure, but cover just one child with asphalt, I swear just one little one, and everybody is up in arms spoiling the fun. :(
