April 27th, 2018: Stoned in Scotland

Scotland is hosting the Second European stone stacking and rock balancing competition.

Competitors travelled from across the world to show off their precision and balance with piles of rock, arriving in Dunbar from the USA, Austria, Sprain and France as well as the UK. The first competition of the day was to balance the most number of stones. The winner balanced 29 stones, slightly less than last year’s winning 32 stones.

The European Stone Stacking Championships are Europe’s largest championships for all Stone Stacking and Rock Balancing artists and practitioners. The overall winner received financial support for flights to the World Stone Balance Championship in Llano, Texas.
