Math(s) Can be Fun and Useful

Say you want to fence your racetrack most people have in the backyard.
You don't know how much fence you need so make a high side guess for the inside fence.
Then take how much you used and calculate for the outside fence and buy how much more you need. ;)

A more practical instance of the "Belt around the Earth" brain teaser: If you have a belt around the Earth, how much longer would it have to be in order to raise it one foot, all the way around?
