AliExpress

Anybody else using this?

It's like a cross between Amazon and Ebay with a bit of suspense thrown in because the things are shipping from China. Actually, it's mostly like Amazon, for a lot cheaper, because the stuff is new, but you have to be patient and confident because you might see your item in a week or maybe two months.

I bought a tent from AliExpress. Good deal. Nice tent. Under $100 (shipped) for something that would be $400 if bought from a US outfitter.

I was just looking at cheap watches because I want to leave my Fitbit at home when I go on a long hike later, and see that my Fitbit, which costs $150, has a very close competitor that actually has more features for $30. I wound up finding a cheap Casio style watch for $1.50 instead of $10 on Amazon.

If you are patient, they have pretty much anything you might want for pretty low prices.

I'm assuming this is a sub-venture by the wildly successful wholesaler Alibaba?

People on another forum have been using this but with all of them buying mostly the same items. The shipping times varied widely and the same item would sometimes vary in color or quality. It was rather strange.

I use it for crafting supplies - some of the things I've gotten are clearly knockoffs and some are clear copyright infringement.
