I have done what he does to the neck at 3:18, trying to get different effects and noises, but I have never done it that hard, to a guitar or bass I care about! Would you do that to your acoustic? If you weren't thinking about buying a new one the next day?
(I've really only done it on axes with bolt-on necks now that I think about it)
