Dec 19th, 2017 : Birds Not Birds

Hey look, birds.



Those aren’t birds they’re metal, bits of tableware and wire.
Anyone can quickly discern they aren’t birds but metal, so why was your first thought birds?
These metal sculptures strip birds down to the basic shapes we recognize quickly.
Is it a built in defense system to recognize threats as quickly as possible?



It works for other critters too.

Actually my first thought was praying mantises.
Great work, but feeling snarky this morning makes me wonder why I never realized how many birds have spoon-shaped heads.
