Happy Friday. The official caption says this is an 8-day-old Makaki ape, buried in its mom's fur at the Eberswalde Zoo. In English there is no such species listed so it must be a German species name.

Even the most hardened amongst us has to look at that and go "awwwwww!"

That is one of the cutest things I've ever seen. He looks so warm and comfortable. I know I'd join him

Could that be some variety of maquaque?

Is there a zoomed-out version of this pic? It would be nice to see the mother too, to get some idea of how big this little kid is.

Sorry kid, it's all downhill from here, 'cause that's as good as it gets.:)

Mmm, a meat blanket..
What's that smell?

Actualy i don't find it that cute. It looks like it's trying to escape so it can get out and claw your eyes out.
Kind of like that gremlin on the simpsons.

At my first reaction, I thought that the ape was drowning in quicksand or something. That first immediate reaction ruined the possibility of any subsequent "Awww, how cute" reactions.

The first thing i thought of was Quato from Total Recall.

Doesn't have the same whimsy as the original pic does it?
