Mackerel coming at ya...

That's very pretty, I like seeing the structure of the rays/spines of the gills, giving the balance between ease of flow and exposure to surface so the gas exchange can take place.

Really pretty.

Holy mack---well, you get it.

Snapped this down at the local tractor junkyard:

What? You don't got no tractor junkyard five minutes from home? You need to move to town. Get civilized.
BigV • Jun 27, 2017 7:44 pm
Nor do you have a fish.
Gravdigr • Jun 28, 2017 1:33 pm
You are correct, sir.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 28, 2017 2:26 pm
Not necessarily, you don't know what's inside that Orca. :p:
Gravdigr • Jun 29, 2017 2:49 pm
What's inside that one is cabinet framework on both walls.

:D

Interesting article over on NPR's site.

Great White Sharks Have A Secret 'Cafe,' And They Led Scientists Right To It

We doubled our current 20-year data set in three weeks.

Scientists discovered great whites were traveling from food rich waters off the coast to an area where scientists thought there to be little to no life, essentially a desert, in the Pacific ocean.

They were wrong.

It's a White Shark Cafe. And they had no clue it was there.

Go home, Ocean. You're drunk.

That's really interesting, not only for the shark data but the other stuff they found they had no idea existed.

Oh, that red fish above... I ain't touchin' that. :headshake

What about the pink one holding the red one?
Diaphone Jim • Jan 31, 2019 4:29 pm
It is a cornetfish, one of many kinds. This one for some reason called a red cornetfish.

Apparently, the red cornetfish in that pic I posted is a monster. Wiki says they rarely exceed 3 feet in length.
