Here we go!

Damnit Griff, you snow bunnies cause this by giving enough money to the ski makers they can pay people to make contrails which scare the russians into making it snow on us. :yesnod:
fargon • Mar 13, 2017 12:31 pm
We got about 3.5" Here in southwestern Wisconsin. That is all.
Griff • Mar 14, 2017 9:06 am
We're getting the full show. 20 minutes ago...
Undertoad • Mar 14, 2017 9:26 am
It's been sleeting for the last 3-4 hours. We're still due to get 3-5" and 20mph winds which should still continue to fuck things up nicely during the afternoon.

But you know what's open.

My office.

We had some snow in the morning two days ago and it has been raining since. Thankfully it will be gone by noon so it can snow up nawth. We didn't get any wind other than the usual breeze.

Yes, the owner is Canadian, and has a garage and a Tesla.

If he can make it in, you can make it in, right?

Just-now Update: as co-workers got stuck on the way in, he has just now made the argument that his roads were passable but maybe some others are not, and we can stay home.

Aside from the 2" of sleet on the streets you will also find my resume on the streets.

Can Benny cheer you up?

Ha ha, absolutely!!! But now MY teeth hurt after that last catch... dang dawg, NFL free agency is still on... kid can run difficult routes, that's for sure...
Griff • Mar 14, 2017 10:06 am
You should see him in traffic!
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 14, 2017 10:13 am
Benny's a trip, BCs are always ready for fun.:D

School's cancelled here. Work opened two hours late. Not sure what good opening two hours late does. The roads are still a mess.

But I put on my hiking boots and walked through the 2-3 inches of partially frozen slush to the metro, which is running fine. Worst part is where the snow plows block the storm drains with foot high frozen slush barriers, and I have to step into cross walks that have 4 inches of standing water in them, stretching all the way across the street. Tip toeing doesn't help much, but my hiking boots are pretty water proof.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 14, 2017 1:25 pm
It builds character and loyalty to the firm.
I've got an inch of snow under enough sleet the front storm door scrapes and that's a 6 inch step. The roads look black but it's going to take a long thaw. I guess the Crocuses are toast.

Did I mention we have icing conditions?
Happy Monkey • Mar 14, 2017 2:07 pm
First snow shoveling of the year here.

Not sure I needed to; I could have easily driven over the amount of snow that was there. I just wanted to minimize the amount of ice after it refreezes tonight.

This year or this winter?

I had a guy in Southern Vermont tell me they had 2 feet by this noon when the wind started howling, and snow started coming down at 2 to 4 inches an hour.
On Cape Cod, a little snow, a little rain, the roads are cool and it's windy.
Happy Monkey • Mar 15, 2017 12:16 am
The winter. There have been two earlier snowfalls, but I just had to brush the car off those times. This was the first shoveling.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 15, 2017 12:21 am
I figure that's what you probably meant. Wasn't the forecast for peak Cherry Blossoms today?
Griff • Mar 15, 2017 7:08 am
Way to sort out the Fake News! :)
We got a few more inches after we cleared the place but now the wind is the issue...

Yup.

Ah, so they've pushed back a week.
classicman • Mar 21, 2017 12:12 am
I was in DC this past weekend for a performance at the Strathmore. Sunday we did the touristy thing... Took the Metro into DC from Grosvenor. There were buds, but the bloom is probably gonna be this weekend. Had a great time though. I haven't done the touristy thing in DC for 30+ years.
xoxoxoBruce • Mar 21, 2017 12:23 am
You were in DC and didn't get jumped by the KKK or Nazi thugs? :stickpoke :lol2:
classicman • Mar 21, 2017 8:54 pm
I was looking for glatt and happy monkey, but they hid too well. lol

Oh, which one is the thug and which the KKK?
Glatt doesn't have the physique of a thug, but HM is of substantial build. However I highly doubt either is either.
A couple of make love not war types. They're probably both on Trumps enemies list, much to the chagrin of tw.
