What is your middle initial?

monster • Feb 18, 2017 9:02 pm
I'm guessing J is the most common. I have no scientific basis for this assertion. (Donald J Trump would be proud :D)

(sorry for all you John Xavier Ulyses Smiths and Jane Quintella Yvonne Joneses, but there will have to be some scrunching due to poll restrictions)

there's a poll
monster • Feb 18, 2017 10:23 pm
.....if you use that rather than just posting a reply, we can all easily see the results as to which is most popular

All ready I can see there are not many J's. Some may argue that there are only 2 initials so far. Still that is 100 against J's.

So you're preggers and looking for a middle name. G, J, and L are wussies, W is a winner.:thumb:

I should get two votes because there's my legal name and my soon-to-be legal name. My middle deadname initial is indeed a J, but my new middle initial, after far too much agonizing, is an M.
Crimson Ghost • Feb 21, 2017 11:50 pm
What if a letter is your middle name?
Happy Monkey • Feb 22, 2017 1:14 pm
Then the initials are A and L, and you pick option two.

Then that letter is still your initial, no?

are you two people? suggest either choose "more than one" or the initial you prefer

Just hoping your new last name doesn't begin with S or T

My first initial is E for Edward and my middle is E for Everett. Got all y'all beat.

One of my friends growing up always told us her middle name was Edward. We never believed her, because she was one of those people who constantly makes things up for fun. Like if a random person asked her if she had any brothers or sisters, she would give a different answer every time, just because she could. So we never once believed that she had a boy's middle name, because that was exactly the kind of nonsense she would have made up.

Found out years later that it really was Edward, because that was her mother's maiden name. And it was perhaps the only story she'd ever told that was true the first time, because she knew we'd never believe it.

You knew Kellyane Edward Conway growing up?

Well, in this case it was all part of the game, to see if you could figure out the truth. She never made stuff up that hurt people. She was the first kid I ever knew to stand up for the idea that being gay wasn't an insult, at like age 10.

As long as she doesn't believe herself and is just fucking around.

So far it looks like J and L are winning at 3 each. I'm the first M. I actually used my middle name as my public name for about 15 years; I got teased about my first name all the way through grade school and half of middle school (or junior high, depending on the town) and when offered the chance to start 8th grade registered under my first initial and middle name, I jumped on it. Now I've finally left the bullying-related memories far enough behind that people other than doctors, state workers, and family get to use my first name again, even though my first name is short I'm getting tired of having to spell it over the phone because people constantly think it starts with an M but it actually starts with N. I know...first world problems, right? ;)
xoxoxoBruce • Feb 27, 2017 12:03 pm
I think it's a great name. :yesnod:

Too bad there's no mnemonic device for such a situation.
