As internet people, you've all seen glitches in the video, but this dude brings them to life.

Faig Ahmed, a student of modern and ancient languages, including Sanskrit and Arabic, was interested in the origin of languages and human writing long before he became interested in carpets. It was his study of pre-historic petroglyphs that led to his fascination with the language of carpet patterns. Ahmed re-imagines carpets as a source code for visual communication, writing, design, art and even science.

During the past decade, Ahmed has become internationally known for re-interpreting the coded messages in ancient carpet designs. His artwork speaks about the unconscious power of the visual language of patterns that communicates messages through generations and cultures, and links early human history with the digital age.

A strong theme in the artist’s new creations evolved from his fascination with genetic research, quantum physics and the science of small particles. Works such as Coherence, Wave Function and DNA are inspired by scientific attempts to describe metaphysical phenomena.

Few have taken mental illness to this extreme.

The first one would make a cool flying carpet. The rest might be alright for rolling dead hobos up in to dispose of them. They look like factory seconds.

What isn't clear to me (and that may have something to do with me having woken up like 15 minutes ago and not having enough coffee yet) is...are these actual rugs, or digitally manipulated images of actual rugs?

The blue one kind of looks like someone was playing Space Invaders on an emulator and their monitor went insane before frying itself.

It does look kinda Space Invaders-y, doesn't it?
