Is YouTube Working For You RFN?

Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 11:23 am
I can not watch any video on YouTube. Just keeps trying to load.

I can see LiveLeak, and Vimeo vids, but no YouTube.

Anyone else having issues?

ETA:

I get no love from any link to the YouTube vids, from here, or any where else. Nor from YouTube's own site.

works fine for me
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 12:03 pm
Well, shit.

I was really hoping someone else was having trouble.

I may have to update my old Firefox.

Thanks.
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 12:09 pm
I just tried to play YouTube vids on my Nook, and couldn't play them on it either.

WTF?
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 12:13 pm
The YouTube app on my Nook gets me nowhere, either.
lumberjim • Jan 13, 2017 2:47 pm
Try logging out
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 2:47 pm
The program I use to download vids, won't.

Vimeo, Liveleak, Bacefook vids, NetFlix all work for me.

I really don't want to update Firefox. Really don't.
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 2:49 pm
Internet Explorer will not YouTube either.

WHAT. IN. THE. FUCK?

Of what? I wasn't logged in to YouTube, never have been just to watch a vid.

I can't get Youtube videos on any device (PC, or Nook anyway) with FF, IE, or Chrome.

I've tried everything I know. The house I live in will no longer YouTube.

Let me check the television, but, I'm betting no love.

ETA: I can also get YouPorn vids, so it's not the end of the world. Back to the tv.
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 3:01 pm
The Vizio television will get YouTube vids.
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 3:04 pm
And now I get them on the PC, in FF. YouTube works now.

Off to try the Nook.
Gravdigr • Jan 13, 2017 3:07 pm
And now the Nook is getting YouTube vids. The YouTube app on the Nook will not pull up vids, nor open properly.

I say again WTF, man?

DNS to Youtube was somehow broken at your router or internet provider's level.
Gravdigr • Jan 14, 2017 2:14 pm
Thanks.

Never had that happen before.
Gravdigr • Jan 17, 2017 3:02 pm
Happened again today. No YouTube on any device.

Until I tried the tv.

YouTube worked on the tv. First try.

No problems on any device after accessing the site via television.

Any ideas? Anyone?

Bueller?

You can try rebooting your router to see if it re-picks up whatever bit is failing.
Clodfobble • Jan 17, 2017 3:18 pm
It's the Russians. I had a bunch of missed emails last week (from multiple reliable people who swear they sent them, and I swear they never came in) and also I-and-other-people-I-know have had wonky cell service, where the phone will ring with an empty call, and when I call the number back the person swears they never called me.

I, for one, don't have the energy to give a shit who my overlords are.
Gravdigr • Jan 17, 2017 3:47 pm
I wonder why accessing with the tv sets things right.

It's using the same router. By 'rebooting the router', do you mean using the reset button on the back of the router? Or the power-off-wait-a-minute-power-back-on?

I tried the reset button on the back when I had this problem the other day. The tv was what set things right. Like today.
Gravdigr • Jan 17, 2017 3:57 pm
I spoke too soon.

It's doing it again.

The tv gets youtube.

And nothing else does.

This is starting to piss me the fuck off.

Nothing I use will get youtube.

The goddamned tv, which I do not use, for anything, gets youtube and nothing else will.
glatt • Jan 17, 2017 4:17 pm
And everything comes through the same router?
Gravdigr • Jan 17, 2017 10:22 pm
Only one we have.
Gravdigr • Jan 17, 2017 10:23 pm
Of course, everything's working hunky dory rfn.

In 5 minutes...who knows?
