Reddit CEO Steve Huffman today admitted that he had edited Reddit user comments that criticized and insulted him, wielding his power to anonymously change references to his own username, and replace them with moderators of the pro-Donald Trump subreddit, r/the_donald.

I see this and I think, novice.

I think I've done that once by accident, editing someone's post.

I remember almost doing the same thing by accident. The edit button and the quote button are right next to each other.

I feel a little sad for Steve Huffman. He needs to get a thicker skin and just not give a shit about what other people say. Unless he realizes they speak the truth and then he can ponder if he wants to do things differently.

The guy runs Reddit and he hasn't figured out yet that the internet is a hateful stew of vomit you can never take completely seriously?

(Yes, there are good things on Reddit. But there is also the rest of Reddit.)

The perfect lesson would be a site-wide protest where every single user posts something bad about him. He can't correct them all.

It would be nice if this enraged the users on /r/the_donald so much that they all up and left reddit, but I don't think that's going to happen. That subreddit isn't a community; it's a megaphone, and this is just more fuel for the outrage machine.
