Cave diving is terrifying to me. I'm not particularly afraid of drowning*, and I'm not claustrophobic, but somehow combine the two and I'm sweating here just thinking about it.

*Hmm, maybe I take that back. I'm afraid enough of being trapped in my car after driving off a bridge that I have a special "break the window glass" tool on my keychain. Still, that's kind of like another version of cave diving, being trapped inside. I've been a swimmer since I was very little, no fear of the water in general.

I was born in Florida and as a youngster frequently swam at Mud Springs. Many divers went into the springs some didn't come out. Being lost in an underwater cave with a limited amount of oxygen is not a good way to die.

Cave diving is riskier than it is rewarding. Nope.

Diving is dangerous enough when there is open air straight above you with no obstructions in the way.
