Monster Gets It

My driving schedule for tomorrow:

7:15-7:45 [Fob and Fobette to school]
8:30-9:15 [Stepdaughter to Job #1]
1:30-2:30 [Stepdaughter from Job #1 to Job #2]
3:15-3:45 [Fob and Fobette from school to home]
5:15-6:45 [Drop Fob at occupational therapy, go grab Stepdaughter from Job #2 and come back to therapy clinic just in time to pick up Fob, and take both home.]

Grand total: 4 hrs and 15 min in the car.

EXCEPT often I don't go home between the Job#2 dropoff and the School pickup, since they are the same location. Instead I will park in the car line for 1 hour and 15 minutes, which eliminates 30 minutes of actual driving and allows me to work on my laptop with the engine running.

I need to divest myself of some child assets, anyone want a good investment property? ROI is projected to begin once Fob becomes employed as an astronaut.

Ugh. I'm sorry.

Stepdaughter can't take a bus to her jobs? That would teach her some serious life skills and independence.

Austin has minimal public transport, and none out in the suburbs. It's just not something the culture here has ever demanded. I did make her take an Uber once, though.

Her driving test is not until October 18th, in a city an hour and a half away from us, because all of our city was completely booked for 90 days out. It's crazy.

Its what Texans, who love Ted Cruz, want. Less government.

Monster doesn't have to get it any more :D

Actually, speaking of: how many times did your children very nearly kill you on the road while they were learning to drive? No exaggeration, we were -->.<-- this close to a 4-car 55-mph wreck yesterday.

It was a terrifying time-period at this house. Lil Griff actually got in an accident during her training period but the other driver was at fault and fled.

Oh Hector was terrifying. First time going
onto the freeway nearly went into the wall
classicman • Sep 10, 2016 11:32 am
I took mine out late at night when there weren't a lot of cars around.
Still terrifying, but better than having a TON of cars around.

Big empty parking lots are your friends.

Glad to know she's not the only death-menace out there. My mom called and tried to loosely threaten me with the notion that a DUI from prescription meds is still a DUI, and maybe her psych meds were making her ditzy on the road. Great, thanks mom. No, we're still not taking her off her meds, because we've already seen what that looks like, but you know, thanks.

Six out of my ten prescriptions warn about dizziness and operating machinery. Fuck 'em, get out of my 1.5 of the road. Muhahahaha!!!

Just took Thor out for 20 minutes round the 'hood. Only had to yell "put your foot on the fucking brake" once.
