June 16th, 2016: The Ark

Unfortunately all the pictures of Noah’s Ark were lost when his smartphone got wet.
But we’ve been blessed with this 230 foot replica by a Dutch carpenter named Johan Huibers.
He built it after he dreamed of a flood in his home town. In retrospect I suspect the deep fried onion rings and pink lemonade float
might be the key to divine guidance. I know they made me see god.



Sadly, while the Ark was being towed into Oslo harbor, someone lost control and crashed into the moored Coast Guard patrol
vessel Nornen. I suspect Satan had a hand in that stroke of misfortune.



Here we see one of the animals onboard the Ark desperately scanning the water for the D… Uh… her mate.



The Ark is now owned by the Ark of Noah Foundation, which was planning on bringing the educational vessel across the Atlantic
to Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games this summer.

Across the Atlantic... Hmm, I’d suggest this…

My favorite part is the 4,500 year old tires.

He framed it like a house. When I first saw all those horizontal strips I thought he maybe laminated the hull with 2x8s or something and expected the crash to do damage to the coast guard boat.

He also has a seam fright down the front rather than staggering the boards.

Amazing amount of time and money to end up with such a flimsy boat.

looks like he just framed a big wooden house on an old garbage barge.
