I understand avid jump ropers had an extensive catalog of verse to accompany them. And being primarily a single sex activity, some of the verse was a little bawdy. Somewhere along the line many of these verses were written down in a handful of books and can still be found in dusty library nooks and used book stores. Maybe even thrift shops.
