Does that earn you double points in the event?

My mind goes blank when I try to come up with names, any names, especially names of pop/rock musicians or actors. So here's what I put together eventually, in no particular order:

Roger Moore
Helmut Kohl
Valéry Giscard d'Estaing
Juan Carlos I of Spain
Mikhail Gorbachev
Chuck Yeager
Danielle Darrieux
Duchess of Kent
Bernie Ecclestone
Honor Blackman

Snakeadelic • Jan 4, 2016 9:05 am
I've got my WMP playlist blaring in my ears to drown out my own misery, so mine will be musicians!

1. Ozzy is back on drugs/booze last I heard.
2. HOW did Keith Richards outlive Lemmy???
3. Ditto Steven Tyler
4. Ditto Mick Jagger
5. John Mellencamp. Last I knew he was tangled up with Dennis Quaid's ex, and Dennis STILL looks rode hard and put away wet after that debacle.
6. Alice Cooper is turning 68 next month AND I HAD BETTER BE WRONG INCLUDING HIM. One of the few rock-n-roll showmen we have left.
7. Geoff Tate from Queensryche. He apparently has Seattle-itis (aka Rain Rot) of the brain and not only became a wine snob in time for the first time I got to see them, he went nuts in Brazil somewhere on the 30th anniversary tour and was fired for pulling a weapon on the rest of the band.
8. Lou Gramm from Foreigner. The brain tumor may have been benign, but I'd bet his stroke risk is astronomical.
9. Speaking of astronomical, Dr. Brian May, formerly the guitarist for Queen and currently one of the most respected astrophysicists we have. That gorgeous stereoptic image of Pluto from last year? He did the processing.
10. Can I just include ALL of the 1985 Motley Crue lineup? Or is Nikki dq'd for having been dead already?
10b. If the Crue inclusive is not viable, I'm going with Nick Rhodes from Duran Duran. I looked up all 5 of the "classic" lineup, and Rhodes looks like he got hit by a bus.

Dangit, and there's no room for Jimmi Page. Personally, I still want to see that tyrannical little former (?) heroin junkie dipped in brown gravy and tossed into a room full of rabid wolverines high on crack!

Hey, Page--FIRST, you do NOT sell the riff from "Kashmir". SECOND, you do NOT sell it to Puff Daddy. THIRD, you do not sell it to Puff Daddy for the soundtrack to that abomination of a Godzilla movie with the Jay Leno Lizard!!! (Technically, that design is referred to in Godzilla canon as Zilla, but many fans call him GINO--Godzilla In Name Only.)

Here's my list for 2016:

1-10. Musicians and entertainers between the ages of 65 and 70.
orthodoc • Jan 19, 2016 10:18 pm
Have to check out last year's list and do something different. The current trend can't hold (surely); some other category than beloved musicians and entertainers has to start dying off.
glatt • Jan 20, 2016 9:19 am
I haven't participated in a few years

1. Chuck Berry
2. Jerry Lee Lewis
3. Grace Slick
4. Smokey Robinson
5. David Crosby
6. Neil Diamond
7. Roger Waters
8. Boz Scaggs
9. Bob Seger
10. Lionel Richie

I had Bowie... in 2012. I heard things. I forgot though and didn't pick him since. I won that year with Whitney. Morbidity was on my mind in 2011
Snakeadelic • Jan 20, 2016 7:55 pm
Orthodoc, the actor who played Grizzly Adams recently died of spinal cancer (OWWWWW!!!!) so maybe an actor/actress list would suit? My other suggestion is look up major scientific achievers--Buzz Aldrin just turned 86...

And, while it happened a LONG time ago, I know of one man who left a HUGE mark on our space program who died in 1997--the unfortunate prodigal rocket scientist whose failure to use the Shift key correctly sent the Mars radar-mapping probe millions of miles off course. When I knew him he was the single most bitter human being I'd ever met, along with being smart enough to read Scientific American cover to cover. I know these things because my mom was fairly briefly married to him!
Snakeadelic • Jan 20, 2016 7:56 pm

No thanks. People have struggles. Dude means well, he's just not on our level yet. He is a pain sometimes with the mistakes he makes, but he doesn't deserve that kind of humiliation. And he just ate lunch with him today. Guy must have made some comment that prompted the data mining. Back stabbing cunt.

You are too good folk. I've seen you take the sympathetic and empathetic stance on too many issues for you to try to convince me otherwise. You defennded JBKlyde when he was acting out, you've gotten my back more than one time as well.

This medium that we all live with each other in has the unique feature of being founded only in the intellectual realm. You're open and honest and imperfect. But your heart has always been in the right place. You've been mean, and you've occasionally acted a little crazy, sure... But it's real. It's honest. Frustration and despair may belabor you at times, but you fight. I love you too. You're as good or better than any of us. Integral and valuable to this forum. Love yourself. You deserve it.

Clod doesn't watch football, but has participated in fantasy for 10? years. The first several years, she chose players with funny names and lost miserably. Then in recent years, she started paying attention to statistics and is creaming the rest of us. She still doesn't watch football.

Treefae is the same way. She cared not a whit for football until we got together. She joined my FF league shortly after, and has never finished worse than 3rd out of ten, and is destroying the rest of us this season.
