Holiday traditions come in two flavors...
1 ~ The traditions that WE observe, which are rational, steeped in meaning, and bring us warm memories from earlier days.

2 ~ The traditions THEY observe, which are silly, nonsensical, and obviously from a culture that's a little off kilter.

Something that seems to pervade both flavors is the mating game. Chasing mates seems to be a primary function of all humans.
The variable seems to be generally split between men and women, and that's whether the mating includes breakfast, or children.
