Twin Grandchildren are here

Last Wednesday we received a call from my son in Pennsylvania that the twins arrived. Both were born at home at full term (40 weeks) +3 days. My daughter in law was in great shape for this pregnancy and was still doing 2 miles per day on her elliptical walker up to the delivery day! The boy was delivered first, Breandán William Basil weighed 7lbs 1oz and measured in at 21 inches. His sister came 19 minutes later, Adelaine Eleanor Rae weighed 6lbs 8oz and was 19 inches long. Our daughter in law was all baby up to the delivery and had only gained 25lbs. I should explain that our family has a habit of bestowing 2 middle names in honor of family members from both sides. These are mostly great grandparent names. They have an older brother, Eoin who 4 and is happy at the prospect of new playmates.

This makes grandchildren #16 and #17 for us. We may have to form some sort of sports league!

Well, I guess being a newborn is very tiring. They look all worn out.
