The Me

This is a poem my mum wrote the other day. I really liked it so here it is:

The Me

I wasn't sad to leave my childhood I really don't know why
I was often very happy, even thought that I could fly

It never seemed to fit me, like it wasn't meant to be
I always felt that one day I would become the Me

So I waited and waited for my turn to come
Until my 15 years were over and my childhood was done

I'm on my way now, so very nearly there
Until at last my true fit that I was meant to wear

That day of glowing days was come
That was the day I became a MUM

I know right? When my bro and I were kids, if she had to nip out somewhere and we were due back home before her, she'd leave little notes - or rather, hysterically funny letters explaining where she was and what she'd left for us, instructions for this and that. But always funny and well-written.

When I met your Mum I wasn't in the slightest bit surprised that she had two such cool kids.
I only wish I could have met your Dad too.

See, it does run in the family.

Very touching.
