Thinking about moving to Seattle? Here's 10 things you should know.


I'll tease you with the first two...

1. This is very important: Seattle is situated on a Hellmouth.

2. Big Bertha is part of Mayor Ed Murray’s plan to open the Hellmouth and suck us all in. There is a band of teenagers and a librarian, led by a vampire slayer somewhere in the city working to stop him, which is why Bertha keeps breaking down.

I got a fucking $60 jaywalking ticket there, so...

The Seattle Center Monorail will be 58 years old tomorrow.

The monorail is a trip, pun... forgive the pun please. it's really short, and it's quite nice.

but the hellmouth bit.. the tunnel's done, but Seattle bananas today.

4. The Underworld will be really mad -- furious -- because of all the bricks fallen on their heads from The Big One. Not sure just how big a Big One gets, as the deep geology around there is the crustal subduction zone that raised the Cascades volcanoes of fame.

4a. That makes for squishy rocks that don't shake much, or let go with a sudden snap.
