I'm trying to remember which Larry Niven book it was where in the future marijuana was legal but tobacco and caffeine were outlawed. Probably more than one, now that I think about it.
I avoid caffeine like the plague. No coffee, only decaf tea, and caffeine-free Pepsis.
Oh, and ginger ale, I drink a lot of ginger ale.
I had to give up caffeine as part of my surgery...basically quit in January with some occasionally between then and June (surgery was in late June). I don't miss it.
The only way I knew I gave it up was I started sleeping more. Actually, I fell asleep easier, and quicker.
And ever since I've given it up, I tend to want to sleep and wake up around the same time every day.
I gave up chasing young women. I gave up my cigars. I pretty much gave up my whiskey. But by Bod, they aren't going to take my caffeine!!!!! It's about the only thing I have left in nasty habits. Oh, that and gluten. You aren't getting my gluten either!!!!!!!!!!!!
My last vice. I need a coffee plant capable of handling grifftopian winters.
