They or we have it. Remarkable step for this court. Maybe we will be more free.

Couple got married in ohio! OHIO! This is the awesome.
DanaC • Jun 28, 2015 5:27 pm
Yeah that made me chuckle too.
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 28, 2015 5:47 pm
Be honest guys, do you really think you can offer your girlfriend more qualities than she sees in that gay guy? Image
Well if he can't marry his boyfriend, he'll marry your girlfriend.
BigV • Jun 28, 2015 8:45 pm
That's funny as hell!!!
xoxoxoBruce • Jun 28, 2015 10:06 pm
That's because it's true. Can't remember the number of times I've heard a girl extoling the virtues of some guy then add... but he's gay. And her girlfriend(s) will chime in something like all the good ones are married or gay.
DanaC • Jun 29, 2015 5:27 am
I don't think they're attractive because they're gay. I think what a lot of women find attractive is the lack of machismo - a sense that the person is comfortable with and confident in their sexuality, and doesn't need to project, or protect, their masculinity.

There is an aspect of traditional masculinity that seems to wilfully cast the feminine into an unreachable and unknowable space. To understand and relate to women too strongly makes that masculinity somehow suspect. (the origins of the 'mummy's boy' comes from the idea that once a boy moves out of early childhood he should move wholly out of the female sphere and female company and enter into male companionship and mentoring - so as not to become 'softened' by femininity)

These days what remains is an often quite subtle and less clearly drawn distinction between male and female worlds - but we still mark that distinction and we still as a society hold men who prefer the (non-sexual)company of women to the company of other men in slight disregard. It is almost a sign of a lack of masculinity to be able to relate to women fully as people.

There is something attractive about a man who doesn't seem to care about that shit - and often, gay men have dealt at a more conscious level with their conception of masculinity and have reached a more settled state.

Straight men who are happy to play the edges of that line, and who aren't caught up with projecting masculinity are also often very attractive.

True, plus other qualities that women tend to find desirable, like personal hygiene, attention to personal appearance, interest in fashion, better manners.
OK, I'm speaking in generalizations bordering on stereotypes, and certainly doesn't apply to all gay men, but the ones with those qualities are the ones the ladies seem to admire.

And higher disposable income due to lack of children. Perhaps the gay marriage ruling will even that out a bit.
And higher disposable income due to lack of children....

Yes, that's more accurate.

I saw this on imgur, and thought OK, I understand he doesn't want his sexual orientation to define and control the way people treat him. That's cool, and would seem right for everyone. Then I wondered exactly what he means by "Gay culture". Thinking of the movie Birdcage, is it the culture upstairs or downstairs?

You really need to come out here and do some research. I don't mean that in a rude way -you're into this stuff, right? one of the things that shocked me when we arrived was the much more clearly defined/accepted/?archaic gender roles and expectations. What is women's work, which toys and colors belong to which gender.... fathers not letting boys play with dolls..... british men were/are perceived as gay and effeminate. now I've been here long enough, I see why. And yes, American women do find British men attractive. Even the mingers. You may have nailed why. Not just the accent. (although that helps)

Happy Monkey • Jul 1, 2015 8:55 pm
The creator of the other flag thought it was ISIS bait, but he caught a CNN.
xoxoxoBruce • Jul 1, 2015 9:15 pm
Sure, CNN people earn brownie points and promotions by finding ways to make people look bad at functions they don't like. That's why they show a dozen troublemakers and ignore hundreds of peaceful demonstrators so often. With that agenda, trying to lure away FOX viewers, they are bound to make mistakes by jumping to stupid conclusions. Gonzo reporting carried to the extreme.

This year's Seattle Pride parade took place a couple days after the decision by SCOTUS to strike down states' heterosexual requirements for marriage. There was *a lot* of love in the room. Here are a couple pictures (and more to come) from our day at the parade.

Me and SonofV at the start of the parade, before the start of the parade. I might have my eyes closed too, who knows. :)

Me and ElderSon at the beer garden. BelovedDaughter was also there, she's holding the camera in this shot.

Oh, yeah, Westboro Baptist Church was there too. Funny thing, a young kid, maybe ten? shouted at them "Shut up fuckers!!". We LOLed!

Heading to Seattle Pride!

We went to see Against Me! last night in Syracuse. First and foremost they are an excellent punk band with a strong Joe Strummer influence. The lead singer is a trans-woman with brilliant stage presence and pipes. It was a pretty cool scene with interesting opening acts as well.
