Do Kids Still...

Do kids still do stuff like this or has it gone the way of the Dodo and chemistry sets?

Balsa flyers still exist. The real creative balsa constructions seem less popular now that childhood is less self-directed. OM tries to help with mixed results.

Seems like that would be the kind of thing my boy would like, but he's not into it at all. May just be this area though. Too much restricted airspace around here.

Actually, I was thinking these were the rocket engine things. The little balsa gliders are still a thing, but a lot of stores just sell the foam ones.

Yeah, the foam ones are so ubiquitous, I think all but the younger kids would look at a wood one and consider it just another disposable party favor, despite the greater complexity of the design.

Mine do, but they are weird.

My older boys built a few of these types of things. They never really got into it though. I think Max might be more inclined. He seems to be into the whole creating things head space.

Oh NO it just might hit someone in the eye. Then the lawyers!
