Pit Peeves

We have threads about workplaces and what goes on there; now we have another. They're not all "peeves", but I couldn't resist the pun. :p:

Dear driver

It is not necessary to tighten your drain plug to 100 ft/lbs of torque. If I need a two foot long cheater bar and chin-ups to break it loose, you're doing it wrong. Just stop. And the same goes for the filter. Spin it on until it touches the mounting plate, then another half to three-quarters of a turn. BY HAND. That's all. You're not driving home the golden spike that holds your car together.

Thanks.

Dear Mechanic Guy,
that was your employee last time I brought it in. I assumed you were trying to make sure I couldn't do it myself in future. Oh and please could you make sure I actually stand a chance of getting the wheel nuts off next time I get a flat?

It comes from them using a air powered impact hammer because they are too hurried or lazy to torque them properly. and it sounds cool. BZZZZZT!
