Cellar Feud/Fortunes

monster • Jan 13, 2015 11:04 pm
Not quite sure how it's going to work yet, but I thought we might play a Cellar version of Family Feud/Family Fortunes. If we do, we need to conduct a survey to get the answers....... so have at it if you will. Once per personality SVP.

(I think there are 40 questions, but just ignore any you can't be bothered with :) )

We are going to need more survey participants. I like your questions.
Clodfobble • Jan 13, 2015 11:39 pm
I am definitely on board with the concept, but my phone is not displaying the google docs form properly. I'll have to fill it out tomorrow from the real computer.
lumberjim • Jan 14, 2015 12:26 am
Do you have chrome on your phone?
Clodfobble • Jan 14, 2015 9:35 am
Done. Excellent questions, monster!
glatt • Jan 14, 2015 9:42 am
even if we don't get around to playing the actual game, answering those questions was fun
infinite monkey • Jan 14, 2015 10:20 am
I'm in a hurry and will fill in my answers later when I have time to ponder them more muchly.

Great idea, monster!
BigV • Jan 14, 2015 12:08 pm
this is done
limey • Jan 14, 2015 2:11 pm
Done. But I don't know how the game works. Is it like "pointless" on British TV?

I'm all up in that shit.

Should squirell nutkin answer as well?
infinite monkey • Jan 14, 2015 3:08 pm
Yeah, should our sockpuppets answer?

(Oh, I'm sorry foot. I didn't mean to bring up socks. It was very insensitive of me.)
glatt • Jan 14, 2015 3:13 pm
Oh, snap!

I'd give you the cold shoulder but then you already have one, don't you?

(Oh, I'm sorry IM. I didn't mean to bring up cold. It was very insensitive of me.)

Family Fortunes! les Dennis was the last host I had the misfortune to see.....

We asked you to name a British game show, you said "pointless" our survey said..... nuh-aaaah X

;)
monster • Jan 14, 2015 4:34 pm
Well, I figured if I don't get 100 I can extrapolate :)

or ask like-minded friends. And so can all y'all. Lack of cellar knowledge can only serve to make it more interesting, eh?
monster • Jan 14, 2015 4:42 pm
omg guys the results are great! keep them coming.... :D if nothing else, this is a much more fun way to do a pointless cellar quiz than answering one by one :)
footfootfoot • Jan 14, 2015 5:24 pm
And that's Numberwang!
infinite monkey • Jan 14, 2015 8:12 pm
I did it earlier and it was a ton of fun! Thanks monster! Not sure how the game will play out but just answering was a blast.

How will the game work?
Griff • Jan 14, 2015 9:34 pm
Task complete. clever :)
monster • Jan 14, 2015 10:46 pm
I'm thinking we will split the whole cellar into two teams
male/female
USA/restoftheworld
first name A-L/M-Z
blue eyes/other colors

or something like that so you don't have to be in at the beginning to be on a team.

i'll try to start rounds at different times of day -especially if we do USA/world.

First person to answer has the floor, all others should restrain or consider themselves to be conferring aloud. If they get top answer, their team plays. If they don't the other team has a chance to get a higher answer. first one from that team has the floor. If they get it, that team plays, if not is back to the first team.

Which ever team is playing, first to post an answer from that team who has not already played in that round has the floor. If they get a top 5 answer, points are added to the total and their team is still in play. if they don't, they get X.

If a team gets all 5 before they get 3 X, they win the points. If not, floor is opened to the other team. They get one guess. First person is it (so you might wanna be really really careful.) If the first word of your post is "confer" it will not be counted as a guess so team members can discuss.... if they get one of the missing answers, that team steals all the points.

something like that?

Need more people to do the survey
BigV • Jan 15, 2015 12:51 am
number of letters in the username? odd versus even
I'm excited about the game!
Spexxvet • Jan 15, 2015 8:56 am
Done. Fun.
footfootfoot • Jan 15, 2015 9:22 am
The teams would need to be even, no? If so, geography and odd/even or eye color and the like are not going to be an even distribution. It would have to be something like alternating teams as people signed up, or just randomizing selections from a list of all players. Or else it should be boys vs. girls.
Spexxvet • Jan 15, 2015 10:49 am
Should it be random, or try to be even strengths?

Pick two captains, who choose their teams?
glatt • Jan 15, 2015 11:16 am
I choose Zengum, HungLikeJesus, LabRat, Lookout123, and Kerosene.
infinite monkey • Jan 15, 2015 11:34 am
Don't bring up HLJ. I miss him something awful.
footfootfoot • Jan 15, 2015 12:39 pm
Why did HLJ bail? I miss all those guys.
infinite monkey • Jan 15, 2015 12:42 pm
I think he said it was interfering with his work. Still, I always thought he'd come back.
monster • Jan 15, 2015 10:15 pm
I thought about the captain thing/picking teams, but I'd really like people to be able to just join in when they show up. Another dichotomy might be cat owners and non cat owners..... or do we need another google survey to see what properties split the cellar 50:50? ;)
monster • Jan 15, 2015 10:16 pm
15 responses. However many we end up with, I'll just do %ages
lumberjim • Jan 15, 2015 10:50 pm
Just announce team selection, then go A B with replies as they post.

# of socks?
BigV • Jan 16, 2015 11:23 am
*snicker*
infinite monkey • Jan 16, 2015 12:14 pm
Size of socks? (In the unlikely event that there is a pair of unmatched socks...say one big fluffy warm one and one shriveled and sad due to an unfortunate ride in the clothes dryer, then it's only fair that we take the middle point between both socks.)
footfootfoot • Jan 16, 2015 12:22 pm
Even odd feet can be even.

An even number of odd feet vs. an odd number of even feet

even odder feet?
sexobon • Jan 16, 2015 6:30 pm
However you split them up, you can always name the teams the Monkeys and the Typewriters.
footfootfoot • Jan 16, 2015 7:47 pm
^FTW!
BigV • Jan 16, 2015 8:45 pm
that was Hollywood Squares, not Family Feud.

You meant to say "Survey says:"!

I'm lost completely. no wait, that was "reality" tv, not a gameshow, right?
